Bhumika Sharma Launches Summer Festive Collection 2021

‘GOTA SITARA’

New Delhi, June 2021: A young designer with a vintage heart and an undying love for Indian craftsmanship and respect for artisans and karigars, Bhumika Sharma is proud to launch her new festive collection, ‘Gota Sitara’. Gota signifies celebration and sitara or sequins signify the starry night, together they garner strong feelings of hope through the bright lights of the stars shining down over the dark landscape of the night. Bhumika Sharma has designed this collection in hope of auspicious days to come where people can celebrate intimately with their loved ones . The designs transcend you to an auspicious occasion  that brings joy, happiness & excitement. The unifying factor in this collection is a profound love for such deeply harmonious celebrations . Indian festivals, pujas, intimate celebrations, family occasions, all these special days bring people together. We as a nation are blessed with innumerable festivals along with a host of traditions that make our weddings week long celebrations of two hearts and two families coming together. Every generation has kept these traditions, modifying them with time but keeping with the sentiments and values of our culture. These trying times have taught us to value these celebratory moments and each other even more, so we have made celebrations more intimate yet as joyous and festive as before.

The collection is now live on www.bhumikasharma.in and at multi brand stores across India, USA, Dubai and UK.

About Bhumika Sharma

What starts as a love for the arts almost always translates into creativity. Designer Bhumika Sharma, loves to paint, despite no professional training in fine arts, she works well with oil colours and is fond of sketching too. Add the love for music and books and you have a person with a keen eye for the finer things in life. She has always been a creative person with a strong sense of aesthetics with an inclination towards fashion, this love for good things led to the launch of her own label. With ambition coursing in her veins and a desire to carve a niche for herself, she looked towards her inspiration for design. She looked towards pioneers like Sabyasachi and Anamika Khanna, Sabya for his unique style and love for handcrafted embroideries and stark colour and Anamika Khanna for her trendsetting silhouettes and originality. She feels that their clothes aren’t just beautiful but always tell a story that resonates with the core value and aesthetic of their brand, this is what she envisioned for her label too.Her love for traditional fabrics, embroideries and spending time with her ‘karigars’ had allowed her to express her design sensibilities. From creating sample pieces, herself to delving into prints and craftsmanship has enabled her to create a definitive aesthetic for her brand. Indian clothes provide a huge opportunity for creative expression to designers. Indian fashion is such a diverse industry with so much to choose from, a plethora of colours, embroideries, techniques, fabrics, silhouettes and most importantly a vast and rich Indian heritage which is such an inspiration for every Indian designer. For Bhumika, the exciting part is exploring India’s rich heritage, beautiful culture and valued traditions to create ensembles for all the beautiful women out there.
