The founders of the shop were originally involved in the business of milk only and were also believed to be delivering the milk to homes by carrying the vessels of milks themselves, gradually diverted into sweets made of milk and later into sweets of all kinds and farsan as well. One of the first shops in mumbai to start bengali sweets, by getting bengali karigars (cooks) from kolkata. One of the few shops making sutarfeni in the city.
