That is why in every religion there is no religious ceremony or occasion without music. Dance and music can open a whole new world of social life, of relaxation and exercise. Social life because it expresses the behaviour of the society. Its moods thoughts and emotions of love, sorrow, happiness and laughter. Relaxation and exercise because of the element of rhythm.
In this background I was drafted into music by my mother, a student of the Revered Shri Bhimsen Joshi. She treated me to a stint under her tutelage and then put me to train for a brief spell with an Indian Classical music maestro. She then advised me to learn Western Classical Dancing which I later undertook. It was however in the year 1998 when, after doing events and charity shows for causes such as AIDS, Forum Against Drugs and in Aid of the Blind ; my wife Alice during her interview to the press made a statement expressing her plans to open a dance studio and teach to serve the cause of the art of Ballroom Dancing. ... ...Less
