The foremost of Delhi's Five Star Hotels and the Flagship Hotel of the Ashok Group was unveiled in 1956 known as The Ashok. Situated in the heart of Delhi's Diplomatic Enclave it provided the ideal location for the opening of Delhi's first Florist Shop in the same year titled Ashoka Florist.
The traditional grandeur of the hotel offered a superb setting for numerous historical figures to visit Delhi and provided the florist shop the opportunity to work for them. Ashoka Florist has been involved in engaging work for visits by the Queen of England, The Shah of Iran and doing the floral work for Banquets for numerous other distinguished Heads of State and Honorary Guests that have visited Delhi over the last 56 years. Ashoka Florist became a favorite amongst customers such as Lady Mountbatten, Pandit Jawarharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi and continues to sustain its customer base in the form of their contemporaries. Various Ministries such as The Ministry of External Affairs, The Ministry of Culture, The Ministry of Tourism, Information and Broadcasting Ministry, The Ministry of Woman and Child Welfare etc. Of the Indian Government are our valued customers. Ashoka Florist was the first to become a member of INTERFLORA, a groundbreaking floral telegraph service established in the United Kingdom in 1956 and continues to be a member to date. The Ashoka Florists remain the only qualified Floral Designers in the city with Diplomas from the American Floral School in Chicago, Illinois.
The last 56 years have witnessed the building of clientele for State Bhavans, Ministries, Corporate Houses, and Embassies and much classic work has also been done for State Banquets, Republic Day Parades, work for various Prime Ministers and even events such as VIP flights for the President of India and making arrangements for Banquets for visiting ... ...Less
