Ayinat was started in September 2012 by Taniya O’Connor. A Fashion designer who, ever since her college days at NIFT( National Institute of Fashion Technology. New Delhi), fell in love with Indian textiles, textures and techniques. She is also a Fashion Stylist and has worked on projects varying from TV shows to Bollywood movies.
"Fauna Folklore" is the label's first winter festive 2012-13 collection. Taking inspiration from traditional Indian bird and animal motifs. Parrots, deer, wild horses, dragonflies all come together to create a jungle of a collection. Black and white with pops of neon hang alongside deep rich Indian hues. Traditional ombre dying, "gota pati",
"ari" and cut work are used on flowy Georgettes and Chiffons to create a riot of colours, textures and detail. The collection is bright, fun , easy and most importantly very Indian.
