A self trained designer, a professionally trained psychoanalyst, an aesthete with interests in arts and crafts,
Nikasha Tawadey made her debut in the Indian fashion industry in 2006 with her eponymous label ‘Nikasha’.

In a short span of time, she has become a celebrated designer, a sentiment echoed internationally with her designs gracing the racks at Selfridges in London and Macy’s in San Francisco. She has been selected by fashion heavy weights like Fern mallis of IMG to showcase in New York and was recently handpicked to open Shanghai fashion week 2010 as a part of 3 designers’ team to represent the best of India in creativity & design.

She has garnered favorable critiques from Icons like Suzy Menkes of the Herald Tribune who have called her work "interesting & pathbreaking" and Hillary Alexander of the Daily Telegraph Uk. She has also been awarded and featured by many publications including "best Indian designer" by Elle, Cosmopolitan, Harpers, L'officiel, Marie Claire, Vogue, Brigette.

While her aesthetic has been labelled as bohemian, exuberant and glamourous, artistic growth for this young designer has been, but a natural progression. Today she firmly carves her niche with style that is exceedingly refined, distinguishing her forte in structure, texturing of fabrics, colour and ethnic references.
