We at KHANATE are proud to share our history and our existence as the 5th generation in the business of custom tailoring.

Our great great grand father Mr. Masood Khan established a tailoring store in 1930 in Bangalore on M G road. Here he had employed a British as a master cutter. His son Mr. Abdur Rehman khan shibly continued the legacy in the name of "Shibly Brothers" in Bangalore. This store was known for well cut Sherwanis. Then was a time when our grand father Mr. Abdul Jabbar Khan son in law of Mr. abdur Rehman khan shibly was given the responsibility of managing a store at Flora fountain in Bombay( now Mumbai) in the same name of Shibly brothers. Known for the good cut, fit and fabric.. There was an expansion of business in the name of Bedford which was run by us. Here they were known to make clothes for the film industry and the elite.

As time passed the family grew, changes were inevitable. The business of tailoring carried on from our grand father to his sons among whom Mr. Niaz Ahmed Shibly the 4th generation our father began with KHANATE in the year 1979.
Since then there is no looking back God willing. The legacy continues with us brothers Ayaz Khan and Aleem Khan taking charge in making this store into a fashion house. ... ...Less
