Bageecha<\/a>,\u00a0founded by Akshay Gupta along with wife, Anika Gupta \u00a0launched in Shahpur Jat last week and has been getting a fabulous response, courtesy, their stunning collection!!!<\/p>\n

A modern preserver of an age old tradition,\u00a0Bageecha\u00a0is a collection of luxurious silks and brocades woven in Zari. The weaves and pattern take you generations back in the era of tradition while the bright pastel hues belong to the mind of today’s woman.<\/p>\n

Akshay belongs to the Banaras House family, bearing a lineage of more than 100 years in designing wovens in Banaras while Anika Dhawan Gupta is also the founder of Rani Pink <\/a>one of India’s renowned wedding decor companies. The brand name\u00a0Bageecha\u00a0originates from their family home in Banaras.\u00a0Working with\u00a0their own weavers from Banaras,\u00a0Bageecha\u00a0aims to capture the exuberance of the city and history of Banaras and intends to hold on to its traditional designing roots with a vision to cater to the changing world.<\/p>\n

A classic Bageecha bride was\u00a0conceptualised while creating the new Autumn Winter 2017 collection. Ittar and kajal, bindis and jhumkis, mehendi laced hands adorned with beautiful and colourful glass bangles. The Bageecha bride compliments her silver kamarband and paizeb with a antique silver purse, carried off with timeless elegance. She is feminine and classic in her classic silk lehenga with bright pastels woven with zari.<\/p>\n

The collection will consist of Saris, Lehengas, Anarkalis and Dupattas. The fabrics used for the collection are silk, silk by georgette and cotton chanderi.<\/p>\n

Akshay Gupta, Founder, Bageecha says\u00a0\u201cI grew up inspired by what my family does and our heritage and lineage always stood out for me. From my grandfather to my father, I\u2019ve been told of stories across 100 years of creating beautiful woven silks right from the heart of Banaras. I realized this market today is untapped and people have moved away from this beautiful product. This prompted me to work on Bageecha and create a product that is\u00a0targeted towards younger audiences as well.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Adding to this, Anika Dhawan Gupta, Creative Director, Bageecha says\u00a0\u201cthe city of Banaras stands true to Indian tradition and culture. Our designs are simple and ethnic and have an Indian soul that shines through. We intend to reach out to younger brides and women who appreciate minimalism and subtlety. Our vision of the Bageecha bride has been a motivation factor in creating this product and my creative background from Rani Pink has helped with the creative process of putting together Bageecha for our patrons.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
